This hymn, composed in 1975, after the then Archbishops of Canterbury and York published their ‘Call to the Nation’, seems freshly relevant today.
Easily learned and sung, the hymn was written for participants at a conference held at Lee Abbey Devon in November 1975 to consider the Archbishops’ ‘Call’. Although it can be sung at any time, it is plainly most suitable for Christmas and Epiphany.
