** This tune was composed to be sung in unison at a Lee Abbey Reunion in Bristol, led by Rodney LEESON. The setting here is dedicated to his memory.
Praise-my-soul-the-King-of-heavenThis hymn is based on Psalm 103, and Lyte wrote a stanza, rarely sung, for verses 15-17 of the psalm: “Frail as summer’s flower we flourish: blows the wind, and it is gone. But while mortals rise and perish, God endures unchanging on. Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise the high eternal One!”
